The natural evolution of our high-end aero product used by professionals.

\n

Filante SLR is an extremely lightweight aero bike that dramatically improves the ratio of torsional stiffness to weight, stiffness to weight. We used the same materials and technology used in the construction of Wilier 0 SLR.

\n

The result is a very high-end, aerodynamic frame that complements our pure climbing bike now used by Astana Qazaqstan Team.

\n

AERODYNAMICS

\n

Filante SLR was designed to give maximum aerodynamic performance in real-world environmental conditions. The study was based on data collected in the wind tunnel (where the wind is very clean for consistent empirical results) while also taking the real world into consideration. In doing so, we not only evaluate typical wind tunnel data (yaw angles from -20 to + 20) but also consider turbulence in the environment that interferes with the bike for the most different reasons.
For this reason we redesigned the profiles, starting from the NACA / KAMM standard but no longer with sharply cut edges on the rear. Softened corners then, allowing better performance even when airflow is disrupted.
The inside of the front fork has been widened by 7mm and is thus 13.6 percent wider than the Cento10PRO fork. In doing so, we moved the fork stanchions away from the wheel, reducing turbulence and thus improving aerodynamics.

ULTRA-LIGHT AND RESPONSIVE

\n

The new aerodynamically optimized profiles allowed us to save additional weight in the construction of the frame. The shape without a sharp edge requires less material and less resin in the corners. Thus the interior is more homogeneous and allows the weight of the frame to stop the needle of the scale at 870 grams.
The bike assembled with top-of-the-line specifications weighs 6.8 KG.
The carbon used to build the Filante monocoque is the same as Wilier 0 SLR. Thanks to the different types of carbon usedi along with Liquid Cristal Polymer, special fiber positioning and construction technology we were able to achieve an absolute level of lightness and stiffness.
The lower overall weight related to the very high level of torsional stiffness has increased the STW by 12.5 percent. This improvement is clearly felt with the precision of the ride and the feeling of safety at high speeds.

240 FITTINGS AVAILABLE

\n

With the steerer tube no longer beveled, we can install up to 35mm of spacers below the crease. By combining frame sizes, crease sizes and spacers we can thus obtain 240 different fittings, with no overlap between one combination and the next. This figure doubles when considering the two available seatposts, with either 15mm or 0mm setback.

INTEGRATED HANDLEBAR AND CABLES

\n

In addition to being lightweight (350 grams for size 101×42), the new integrated Filante Bar carbon monocoque handlebar accommodates brake and control cables inside, routing them inside the frame. It has an essential design, with sinuous, rounded lines to ensure maximum ergonomics in grip.

EASY-FIT SPACERS

\n

The spacers interposed between the head tube of the frame and the handlebar are made of high-stiffness composite material, with a special cavity dedicated to cable routing. They are composed of two parts so they can be quickly assembled and disassembled without interfering with the cables that run between the handlebar and frame.

BALANCED DESIGN

\n

Six sizes, unique feel. The tube sections in the various sizes are designed so that stiffness, ride quality and comfort are the same on each different frame size.

SPEED RELEASE THRU-AXLE PINS

\n

These pins allow quick removal of the wheel from the frame without having to pull the pin totally out of the wheel hub. This solution significantly reduces wheel removal and housing time. In racing, a wheel change saves an average of 7 seconds compared to a traditional thru-bolt.
