A black version of the Brooklyn retro cotton cycling cap – not strictly 100% retro authentic -it was worn by Mars Blackmon played by writer/director/producer Spike Lee in the 1980’s low-budget film She’s Gotta Have It that launched his career.

Unlike the blue Brooklyn retro cotton cap, this black version of the Brooklyn cap was never worn by the team riders such as RdV.

It’s bicycle courier culture that created the demand for the black version, still keeping the same ribbon, team logos, and iconic Brooklyn bridge, just in black.
