Troy Brosnan wanted a unicorn tire with a center tread design that could easily support high speeds and with sidewall caps that could support world-class speeds when cornering. Using our Rekon, Minon DHF and High Roller II tread designs as a starting point, Troy and our engineering team began development on the Dissector during the 2018 World Cup season. All center caps have a strong ramp for minimize drag, but keep the edges flat and sharp across the entire height to provide strong braking traction. Small incisions give the caps further flexion, increasing their surface during braking and helping the curve transition towards the side caps. The caps on the C-shaped sides are alternately positioned towards the center line and towards the outside. This tread pattern reduces uncertainty in the cornering transition from the center to the shoulders. A distinct channel along both sides of the center caps together with a wide spacing between all the caps helps remove debris.
