Filante SLR is an extremely light aero bike, which significantly improves the relationship between torsional stiffness and weight, stiffness to weight. We used the same materials and the same technology used in the construction of Wilier 0 SLR.
The result is a top-of-the-range, aerodynamic frame that sits alongside our pure hill bike used now by Astana Pro Team and Total Direct Energie.

AERODYNAMICS
Filante SLR has been designed to give maximum aerodynamic performance in real environmental conditions. The study was based on data collected in the wind tunnel (where the wind is very clean for homogeneous empirical results), also taking into consideration the real world. By doing this we not only evaluate the typical wind tunnel data (yaw angles from -20 to + 20 ) but we also consider the environmental turbulences that interfere with the bike for the most different reasons. Softened corners therefore, which allow a better performance even when the air flow is disturbed. The inside of the front fork has been widened by 7mm and is therefore 13.6% wider than the Cento10PRO fork. In doing so, we moved the fork stays away from the wheel, reducing turbulence and thus improving aerodynamics.

VERY LIGHT AND REACTIVE
The new aerodynamically optimized profiles have allowed us to save further weight in the construction of the frame. The sharp-edged shape requires less material and less resin in the corners. Thus the interior is more homogeneous and allows the weight of the frame to stop the balance needle at 870 grams.
The bike assembled with top of the range specifications weighs 6.8 KG.
The carbon used to build the Filante monocoque is the same as the Wilier 0 SLR. Thanks to the different types of carbon used together with the Liquid Cristal Polymer, to the particular positioning of the fibers and to the construction technology, we were able to reach a level of lightness and rigidity of the highest level.
The lower overall weight compared to the very high level torsional rigidity has increased the STW by 12.5%. This improvement is clearly perceived with the driving precision and the feeling of safety that you have at high speeds.

INTEGRATED HANDLEBAR AND CABLES
In addition to having a low weight (350 grams for the 101×42 size), the new integrated Filante Bar carbon monocoque handlebar accommodates the brake and control cables inside, directing them inside the frame. It has an essential design, with sinuous and rounded lines to ensure maximum ergonomics in the handle

EASY-FIT SPACERS
The spacers interposed between the head tube of the frame and the handlebar are made of highly rigid composite material, with a particular cavity dedicated to the passage of the cables. They are composed of two parts so as to allow quick assembly and disassembly, without interfering with the cables that run between the handlebar and frame.

THRU-AXLE SPEED RELEASE
These pins allow a quick removal of the wheel from the frame without having to completely extract the pin from the wheel hub. This solution significantly reduces wheel removal and housing times. In the race, a wheel change saves on average 7 seconds compared to a traditional thru axle.
