Whilst history shows that Eddy Merckx is the greatest cyclist of all time (sorry Lance) with 525 victories, at the time it was Rik van Looy who was the top dog in theSolo/Superia team.

Some thirty years before Cipo’s Saeco team of the 1990s, it was Van Looy’s red train that used to set him up for the bunch sprints. Looking at the team’s roster, you’ll see some very well known riders too with Peter Post, Patrick Sercu, Edward Sels and even GB’s own Vin Denson in the team.
