PIRELLI INTRODUCES THE NEW P ZERO RACE TLR, THE FASTEST TUBELESS TIRE IN THE RANGE FOR ROAD BIKES
\n
New SPEEDCORE technology, which makes the tire 24% faster than the previous version and reduces the risk of punctures
\n
Pirelli’s tubeless ready tire is the fastest in the entire road range-a feature demanded not only by amateurs but also by the World Tour teams Pirelli works with: Trek-Segafredo and AG2R Citron; recently joined by Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
\n
The result of a complex project involving various functions of Pirelli’s R&D, as well as the teams that have already tested it in the field, P ZERO Race TLR features an innovative technology, SPEEDCORE.

SPEEDCORE: REINFORCED CARCASS
\n
The structure of the P ZERO Race TLR features a tread made with the proven SmartEVO compound, a next-generation polymer compound created to offer grip and low rolling resistance. The tire changes inside, compared to the previous version, where the new SPEEDCORE technology was used, which promotes low rolling resistance and high puncture protection by reinforcing the casing-without stiffening it-through the use of aramid fibers. Aramid, in fact, possesses chemical and physical characteristics that allow high tensile, shear and heat resistance, thus favoring the mechanical properties of the tire itself.
\n
FAST TIRE WITH HIGH STRENGTH AND LOW STIFFNESS
\n
This new technology has been developed thanks to Pirelli’s experience in the field of compounds for racing tires and has made it possible to reduce rolling resistance, improving the smoothness of this tire by 24 percent compared to the previous version of P ZERO Race TLR (internal Pirelli tests carried out with tires in size 28-622). The aramid fibers, in fact, bind evenly with the other chemical elements of the rubber, arranging themselves homogeneously in the structure, thus promoting the required high mechanical properties of low rolling resistance, high puncture resistance and low stiffness. Thanks to SPEEDCORE, therefore, the structure of the new P ZERO Race TLR is much more flexible and thinner than a traditional butyl rubber layer, with improved mechanical strength characteristics compared to the previous version of the product and able to offer a better level of puncture protection than that of a classic bead-to-bead fabric coating.
\n
The weight and excellent grip and reliability characteristics in dry and wet conditions remain unchanged from the previous version on the market, confirming the product as a reliable and high-performance all-rounder, a reference in its category.
